A Call this Morning

We just got a call from Kathy, who thought she saw our Sassy girl near Candy Cane park, and who still had eyes on her.  She was trying to take a picture to text to me when she met a frantic owner, trying to find her dog.  So, while the dog was not Sass, we are grateful to Kathy for calling, letting us know that the signs are still working and the community is still watching.

You have no idea how much that means to us.

  1. I'm glad people are still looking, but oh, how my heart leapt out of my chest when reading the first line!

  3. I assume the dog of the frantic owner has been found? And if so, that is wonderful news! Thank goodness. Now we hope anxiously that Sassafras will be found as well. Yes of course it's fantastic that the community is still on the lookout but is your Congressman and the police still helping? Are animal rescuers from shelters helping? Can the higher ups put pressure and be assertive and aggressive to get approval of the Park and the Country Club to set up traps and cameras? If you need letters of support written to these people who can push more to get things done then let me know so we can get things moving and find your Sassafras. Please know that I only have the best intentions in the search for your Sassafras. Be assured that I know fully that you do your best and others too in your community to help. They (authorities, etc...) can't forget that you are trying to find a very important loved one. Sometimes they need to be reminded and make things happen for people.

You know I offer you only the best wishes and that I think of all of you everyday. We all can't wait to hear that Sassafras is home.

  4. @Julia & @Meredith - so sorry to get your hopes up with the first line. Believe me, if Sass found there will be no ambiguity about what has happened!

@Celine, we have various lines of communication open with people who might be able to help. At the moment our goal is to set up a camera that can be monitored via the Internet, not to set up a trap (because of the danger to trapped animals in Winter). We are still waiting for the camera so we can figure out exactly what it can/can't do.

    1. Please let me know if you need someone to monitor the camera through the Internet. I am home everyday and I would monitor day and night and whatever it takes to bring your Sassafras home. Let's not give up, we are all in this together. Your Sassafras has grown dear to my heart and you as well and your family are always in my thoughts. I am so glad alot of people are helping you. She will be found and brought home.

      Best wishes,
      Céline
